How are minutes converted to decimal hours?
Divide minutes by sixty and add the result to the whole hours. For example, thirty minutes equals 0.5 decimal hours.
Can I use this result as a final payroll or staffing record?

Why can I not add minutes like decimal numbers?
An hour contains 60 minutes, not 100. Converting each duration to total minutes prevents incorrect decimal arithmetic.
