Workspace type

Calendar workspace

A calendar workspace shows records on a schedule, grouped by day, week, location, user, or role. It is built for coverage questions: who is working, where the gaps are, and what is coming.

Best for

Master schedules, per-location schedules, availability review, and visual coverage checks.

When to use it

Choose this type when

The operating question is about time: today, this week, next rotation.
Schedulers need to spot gaps and conflicts visually.
Coverage is planned by location, role, or division and needs that grouping.
Workers or clients need a familiar schedule view of their own shifts.

Configuration

How to set it up

1

Create the workspace on the Shifts table (or a table with start and end times).

2

Choose the grouping that matches the operating question: day, week, location, user, or role.

3

Use color for status, role, or coverage state.

4

Keep shift detail one click away via the record detail view.

5

Pair the calendar with a list workspace of exception tabs for follow-up.

Real examples

Pages teams build with this type

Master Schedule

Shifts

The whole operation's coverage in one view.

Locations Schedule

Shifts

Coverage one site at a time for site managers.

Monthly Schedule

Shifts

The month ahead for planning and requests.

Division schedules

Shifts

One calendar per division, patrol, or service line.

Best practices

One calendar per audience: a dispatcher, a site manager, and a worker need different groupings.
Color by the state that drives action, not by decoration.
Do not use a calendar for exception review; that is a list workspace's job.
Scope client and facility calendars to their own locations with access groups.
